It has been bought to my attention yet again, that Neil is hanging around fields and shoulder tapping referees to referee for him and promising more money etc
A lot of our newer membership will have no idea who he is so if I bring it up now, you will all be aware.
- He is not affiliated with NRF.
- The company he goes under is Wax Eye Sports.
- He does not hold a current refereeing licence.
- He will ask you if you are interest in refereeing for him and once he has your number, he will continually ask you to do games for him. At the end of the day, you can do what you want, but if it is because I don’t give you enough games, let me know.
- College Sport have asked all their schools to refrain from using him for games – but can’t stop them.
- Some schools will not let him on their grounds due to previous issues with him and ruining games.
- He will turn up to referee certain games or have referees turn up to games that are not covered by official referees, and we still get complaints come into the office with teams thinking they are NRF appointed referees.
- If you do currently referee for him, please do not wear your NZF Lotto apparel because of the above issue point.
- If you are unsure who he is, he travels around in an old campervan and is in his 60’s.
